Rogan announced on Instagram that the Joe Rogan Experience production is on hold. Producer Jamie Vernon, known as ‘Young Jamie’, tested positive for COVID-19. Jamie is the co-host as well as producer of the show. He schedules the show’s guests.
Until a doctor gives permission for episodes to continue, they have shut down the podcast.
Joe Rogan Had “Brief” Contact with Jamie
Rogan stated, “I tested negative, and the rest of the staff tested negative.” He stated that the show had been pre-recorded over the past nine days. Hence, he’s had only brief contact with Jamie on Monday. The host, cast, and crew are tested daily.
Vernon thought he had a sinus infection or allergies when he told Rogan he felt ill this past week. By Saturday he was “mostly over it.”
Rogan has Downplayed the Virus
This quick reaction is unlike Rogan’s past comments downplaying the virus. He has criticized people who wear masks. But today, Rogan has said that he would keep fans updated on when the podcast will resume.
The Kanye West Interview is off, for now
The Kanye West interview is off, for now. During the week of October 12th, West tweeted that he “would love to go on Joe Rogan’s podcast LIVE this week. I have my team trying to get your number, Joe. I’m in Calabasas. Let’s do this, my friend.”
Then on October 17th, West shared FaceTime screenshots with Rogen, confirming he’d appear on the show Friday, October 23. But with the show’s announced shut down, that’s questionable. Unknown is whether the controversial Ye will give Rogan another interview slot, though he probably will given that he’s in a promotional mood these days.
