After reports on Tuesday that HBO had scrapped a “Game of Thrones” spinoff, they announced on Wednesday that “House Of The Dragon” has been confirmed. It will be a prequel to GOT with 10 episodes based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood.” The series will take place 300 years prior to the events of GOT and will depict the stories of the Targaryen kings who had been the rulers of Westeros. According to HBO, Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal will partner as show runners, with both also poised to work as executive producers alongside Martin and Vince Gerardis. Sapochnik directed six episodes of GOT including “Battle of the Bastards,” which is IMDB’s highest-rated episode. He will direct the “House of the Dragon” pilot. These announcements brought tremendous joy to franchise fans. We’ll have the launch date when it’s announced. Source:
