On Tuesday, Attorney General William Barr said during an interview that “some” of the people named by the federal investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation will be familiar. Barr told Bret Baier of Fox News that the COVID-19 pandemic has not slowed down the review of John Durham, the US Attorney for Connecticut. He said that Durham’s team “has been working very aggressively to move forward,” in their probe into the origins of the FBI’s Russia investigation. Durham is looking to see if the FBI made errors in its FISA application for search warrants to monitor Trump administration associates.
Barr made no comment on potential criminal charges. However, he also said “the wheels of justice grind slow … And they do run slow because we have due process and we follow the process,” he said. “But people should not draw from the fact that no action has been taken yet, that that means that people … are going to get away with wrongdoing.”
