September 15th is National Linguine Day! If you’re looking for an excuse to spice up your day, then try out some of these easy linguine dishes. Not only can you make this a fun cooking experience, but you and your family might even learn some fun facts about linguine!

Parmesan and Garlic Linguine

Of all the linguine dishes you could make, this one is the easiest and the most popular. You’ll need lots of parmesan cheese, heavy cream, and garlic to start. Then, cook the linguine al dente and toss together with the sauce. Garnish with some basil and it’s ready to eat!

Shrimp Scampi Linguine

If you don’t like cream and cheese, you can still make a delicious linguine dish with butter, oil, garlic, and shrimp. Add some lemon zest to this dish to cut through the heaviness and some herbs for a contrasting, light flavor. Try to buy fresh, never-frozen shrimp as those tend to cook better than frozen shrimp.

Linguine with Clams

Not a fan of shrimp? Then substitute them with clams and make this linguine with clams dish. You can load up on the garlic to offset the fishiness of the clams and make sure to add some white wine in the sauce. Some people use cheap wine since they’re not drinking it, but chefs suggest using good wine instead. The basic idea is that if it’s not high quality enough for you to drink, it’s not good enough to add to your food.

Seafood Linguine

You can also add other types of seafood into clam linguine and turn it into seafood linguine. Some favorites include octopus, mussels, and scallops. This dish is versatile and you can use whatever type of protein your heart desires. 

Lemony Courgette Linguine

For those who aren’t familiar with the term, courgettes are zucchinis. The recipe to make lemony courgette linguine is similar to that of the parmesan-garlic dish. You’ll use pretty much the same mix of cheese, heavy cream, and butter, but then you’ll want to add thinly sliced pieces of zucchini into the pasta. Add some lemon zest to lighten up all that sauce and eat up!
